The season of routine is here! I love September as when the season starts to turn to fall after summer the feeling of routine and structure really set in.  This week I am talking all about some daily practices you could bring into your life to help support you and your money.  Sometimes when we think about practices with money we assume it has to do with our bank account or spending plan, which it can, but it also has to do with mindfulness, connection, and as simple as taking a deep breath.  Enjoy some idea's to help you connect with yourself and your money every day!

This week Linda has on author, global speaker, podcaster, fellow She Recovers® coach and professional certified life coach Andrea Owen on the show.  Andrea has written a new book called Make Some Noise that is being released August 2021.  In this book Andrea encourages women to dig in to find their power and and honour who they are and raise their voices for themselves. She speaks so much about money in this book and in this interview.  Linda and Andrea talk in-depth about being empowered by our money and how to let go of narratives that are no longer serving you. This week Linda talks about a specific traumatic moment that happened to her in middle school that started her journey to a spending addiction.  "Trauma is not the event, it is how you feel during it" -Gabor Mate.  The feelings that happen during a traumatic moment lead us to behaviours in our lives like a spending addiction. Linda tells this story in this episode.

Have you ever wondered how traumatic events in your life have affected your relationship with money?  In recovery, we are often faced with traumatic events in our lives that have led us to where we are now. These events lead us to try to be comfortable in our pain. Often we find ourselves in a cycle of patterns and behaviors with our money as a result of this pain.  This week Linda talks about how her trauma has affected her relationship with money, specifically her addiction to spending money. There is so much work to be done collectively with our trauma and the conversation starts in this episode.

Have you ever thought about having boundaries with your money?  In recovery, boundaries are so important to protect yourself in so many ways.  What would boundaries with money mean to you? This week Linda walks you through what boundaries are, how to apply them to your Financial Recovery℠ , and start achieving your goals by having them in place.  When we have boundaries in place we also set an expectation of what we want to do with our money. Money loves us to be specific with what we want. Let's set some money boundaries!

Do you understand your fico/credit score? Do you understand what helps your credit score and what doesn't? Linda breaks down how things report to your credit bureau, what to do if you have a low credit rating to increase it, and ways to keep your credit score happy and healthy. Our credit score rules a lot of our lives these days so being able to understand it and what to do to keep your score healthy is very important.

Do you feel like there are habits you want to start with money but have no idea where to start?  In this episode, Linda walks you through some great habits to start with money and how to start them. Start small, but just start is the motto of this episode!  In 18-28 days you can build a habit and in 66 days you can build a new behaviour aka a new neuro pathway in your brain! Let's do this!

Do you find that you experience a hardship in life with money and you decide that the journey is too hard? Do you beat yourself up a lot about your money?  The journey to create a healthy relationship with money takes time. It can be really hard to accept this. It can be really hard to start to move forward when you are feeling discouraged about your experience.  This episode is a pep talk to keep going and an explanation of why financial recovery takes time. This week Linda has a guest on her episode! Mandy joins Linda to talk about how she grew up with money and the beliefs of what she knew as a kid to what she knows now. Mandy is a recovery coach who has recently written a book and has her own business. He's baaack! Back by popular demand Linda's husband Sunny comes back to talk all about what is going on with their money.  Working together in a marriage and as a couple in money can be hard work. Linda and Sunny talk about some major money milestones that have come up for them and the struggles that have also come up for them in the process.  Money is always constant work and so important to have communication with money as a couple. Even when it's hard, the work is worth it as Linda and Sunny and demonstrate in this episode.

2021 is here!
