281: The Difference Between Success and Achievement

What matters most to you – PROGRESS or PERFECTION? Let’s say at the beginning of the month you have a goal, and in the process of taking action and moving towards achieving that goal, you are growing, transforming, and building confidence in yourself. However, as you reach the end of the month, you fall short of hitting the goal. 279: How to Save Yourself 5.5 Hours Every Single Week

Have you trained a new team member, just to see them not ever taking any action? Frustrating, right?! You’ve recruited somebody, spent a lot of hours training and coaching them.  But at the end of the day, they were never willing and really serious to do the work (despite everything they’ve said to you). 278: Are Your Running Your Business Like the Dollar Store?

Did you know that starting small is THE KEY to sustainable success in your business?   If you’re like 75% of the world’s population (and like me!), you started the year with some type of goal or New Year’s Resolution – a fitness goal, rank advancement, business growth, etc.   And to meet these goals, we’re going to take all kinds of ‘massive action’ to achieve them, because most of us believe that doing more is the key to success. However, the problem is that we lose steam because we realize we're not capable of taking all of this massive action to reach these goals. And so, many of us get discouraged and eventually STOP altogether. Here’s the thing, the common belief that ‘more is the key to success’ is a LIE. Success is not doing more. It’s doing better at less.  In this episode, I teach you a concept we use in my membership groups called the ‘Minimum Baseline Activity,’ which I believe will set you up for success in every one of your goals, both in your business and in the rest of your life.  

277: Why Starting Small is So Important for Success

Did you know that 75 million people quit jobs in 2021?  This mass exodus is being called  ‘The Great Resignation’ or ‘The Big Quit.’ More people than ever before are questioning their jobs and careers and asking themselves if they’re really happy doing what they’re doing and what would make them happier. The pandemic was a really horrible experience, but it compelled us to re-evaluate our work-life priorities and identify what’s most important to us all. According to a recent Forbes article, the throngs of people leaving their jobs want: —> A bigger salary —> More career opportunities —> A feeling of value from their leaders —> Better relationships with their colleagues —> The ability to continue working remotely They also want to do work that MATTERS. Wouldn’t it be awesome if something like that actually existed?  OH WAIT…. The networking marketing business offers these opportunities, and so that’s why RIGHT NOW is the greatest time in history for our profession.   The key question is… Can you really BELIEVE in these things when talking with people, even if they haven’t happened for you yet? In this episode, I talk about why today is the greatest time for Network Marketing and how you can start envisioning and building a purpose-driven business that gives freedom and fulfillment today. 

276: Why RIGHT NOW is the Greatest Time in History for NWM

What if the ultimate goal for our business is to become INSIGNIFICANT within it? I was in a network marketing company that celebrated rank advancements and sales by putting you in front of a large room full of people.    The spotlight was such a big deal. It was the goal.  It was coveted by everybody so much that it became even more valuable than money.  And so, the first time I gave an actual presentation, I felt ecstatic about it.  I thought ‘This is what leadership is.’  However, a powerful conversation completely changed my mindset on leadership.  This guy, who at the time was 10x more successful than any other person in our company, told me that his value as a leader is not tied to his personal results, but by the results of the people on his team.  He said that it’s not about how many times you stand in front of a room, but how many stories you help create for other people.  You see, the more successful we become, the less significant we need to become as well.    In this episode, I share the dangers of ego-driven leadership and what it means to build a true leadership legacy. 

275: A Radically Different Way to Think about Leadership

What’s more important in your business – RESULTS or GROWTH?  We hear it over and over inside the network marketing industry…  That the secret to success is focusing on the income producing activities (IPA’s) of your business. IPA’s are the front-end activities that we do in the business to create leads - activities like prospecting, creating content on social media, giving presentations, sharing your products with people, etc.  However, when we take action, we also get extremely focused on the results.  And when we don’t see the results that we want to see or expect, we begin to get discouraged and doubt ourselves. Here’s the thing — focusing on IPAs might produce short-term personal success, but they will never contribute to the long-term growth of your business. If you want to see long-term sustainable success in your business, you need to shift your mindset and activity to what I like to call Growth Oriented Actions (GOA’s). In this episode, I teach why focusing on IPA is a formula for failure and how you can shift to growth oriented actions to achieve sustainable business growth. 

274: Are You Taking Growth Oriented Actions (GOA's)?

Are you worried about sounding (and feeling!) like a salesperson when talking to prospects?   And is that fear affecting your results? This is one of THE biggest concerns we, as network marketers, have.   Honestly, it’s one of the reasons so many people avoid our industry and profession! Sounding like a salesperson and being concerned only about ‘the sale’ or ‘the new recruit’ is a major turnoff to people joining your team! If you are coming off as a bit ‘salesy,’ it might be because you’re building your business with a SALES mindset.  People with a sales mindset are focused on the results and the results alone.   They constantly pitch their products and services to people that don't even have a legitimate need for them. But, if you’re listening to this podcast, I know YOU want to be different. You want 2022 to be different.  And that means you must lean into having a SERVICE mindset.    And to have a service mindset, you must stop focusing on the results and start serving each individual person and what their personal needs are. You need to begin making your conversations intentional and purposeful.  Identify the problems people have and solve those problems by asking them the right questions.   In this episode, I’ll teach you how to build your business without feeling like a salesperson and how to make your prospecting conversations purposeful and intentional and 100% about the person you are serving. 272: {Live Coaching} I Feel Exhausted by My Business

Did you know that your business and exercising have a lot in common?   After all the holiday festivities, maybe you’ve stepped up your workout regimen.   And if so, you know that one concept that is extremely vital in exercise is FORM.  In fact, it is way more important than the intensity, frequency, or weight that you can lift. However, what’s fascinating is that the same thing applies to our businesses.  We start off the year by taking massive action.  We do more, more, and more… more presentations, more social media postings, and talk to more people. But here’s the problem…  We are so focused in getting a number (quantity) that we sacrifice form (quality), which fundamentally leads to failure.    Know this -- you'll never see sustainable success and freedom by just focusing on quantity. In this episode, I discuss why you should focus on quality over quantity and why having good FORM is key to business success.  

271: Are You Using Good Form in Your Business?

Happy New Year! It’s a fresh start - a new beginning.   I believe most of us have already set our goals for 2022. And for so many of you, that probably includes a rank up in your company.  So right now, you’re deep into thinking about the tactics, strategies, and actions to achieve that next rank.  But here’s the shift you must make first: the change in your mindset will ALWAYS come before the actual rank. The secret to goal achievement is this:  Before thinking about what you’re going to do, be clear on the mindset you need for success.  Because impossible goals require you to be someone you’ve never been before, you must think in a way you’ve never thought and believe things you’ve never believed before. Understand that your actions don’t create your results. It’s the MINDSET you have behind the actions. In this episode, I share with you how you can transform your mindset and the way you think so you can achieve those impossible goals this 2022. 

270: The Mindset Comes BEFORE the Rank

269: BEST OF 2021: Your Core Story

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone! Typically, this time of the year we take a little bit of time to reflect, plan, and spend time with loved ones so that we can start the new year rested, refreshed, and ready to go.   I also recognize that there are so many of us who still want to do a few things inside our business to keep the momentum moving forward.     However, here is my advice for you during this time of the year: Honor people where they are at in their own businesses and accept the circumstances for what they are.  If you have a leader who wants to take some time off, just be okay with it. Your priorities are not always their priorities, and we need to be OK with that. I see two common mistakes why leaders struggle in creating independent leaders on their team. #1 – They let go of leaders way too early.  #2 – They do everything for their new team members for way too long We, as leaders, are either asking too much of people too early when they are not 100% equipped to do it on their own…and, as a result, they struggle and get stuck in their business instead of becoming effective  Or, because we want everything to be perfect,  we do too much for our new team members for way too long, which in effect holds people back from being the independent leaders you need them to be.
