Sasha and Julia discuss Aron Ralston's incredible memoir about cutting off his right arm, which had been trapped by an 800-pound chockstone in Blue John Canyon in Canyonlands National Park, to save his life in 2003. The book is marvelously written with vivid imagery, harrowing adventures, and haunting spiritual experiences. It's one of Sasha's major influences. She might not be a rock climber and snowboarder moving to Colorado without it. And it serves to remind Julia of how tragically short life is and that we should spend our precious time doing something worthwhile.
