Hooting Heresy

In this episode, Cody and Chris bring on the amazing, incredible hosts of the Box of Oddities podcast, Kat and Jethro, to finally talk about a subject they have been avoiding for sometime: spirit boards. First, Kat tells a reddit story in which a girl and her friends summon a spirit that supposedly moves trees. Then, Jethro shares a story where another group of girls contact a spirit who spews out Heart lyrics that become ominously relevant later. Next, Cody tells us about his own personal Ouija experience, followed by the true story of a girl who killed a family member after being instructed by a summoned spirit. Finally, Chris gets into a true Ouija experience in Spain that was the basis for the horror movie, Veronica. Creep of the Week is a game that Cody plays with our guests. Ouija, I Hardly Know Ya

This minisode is easy to guess, but it’s a fun one about conjuring spirits. First, Cody talks about a Christian reddit user who spoke in tongues to save his family from a demonic attack. Summoning Spirits

In this episode, Chris and Cody travel to the Middle East to share those supposed wish granting creatures, jinn. First, Cody talks about Hank Wessleman PhD, who details his own super woo encounters with a jinn who told him all about the universe. Then, Chris tells a true story of one Muslim practitioner’s close encounter with a spirit she believed to be a jinn. Next, Cody discusses a specific town, Bahla, Oman, where jinn are said to mess with people like crazy and cause walls to “refuse” to be rebuilt after crumbling. Finally, Chris tells of another town, Al Jazirah Al Hamra, a once thriving pearl-diving village that has been said to be abandoned due to an infestation of djinn. This episode originally aired during Pride 48 in July, but we loved it so much, we wanted to share it with you. The topic is on ghost lights, or mysterious lights...that intend to kill! First, Cody shares lore around Will o’ the Wisps, which (to Cody’s shock) is actually named after a guy named Will! These lights try to lure people to their death in swampy areas. Then, Chris talks about corpse lights, or phantom funerals, which are lights that appear in Wales near the dying to predict their deaths. Next, Cody discusses the Min Min lights in Australia, unexplained lights seen by hundreds that tried to lure a reporter over a chasm. Finally, Chris dives into the Brown Mountain Lights of North Carolina, which were so mysterious and widespread, they prompted an investigation by the U.S. Geological Survey. A Ghost Light in the Dark

This topic comes straight from our childhoods, and we discuss personal stories as well as absolutely heartbreaking ones. First, Cody shares a bunch of local stories about Screaming Wells, a place outside his hometown where Satanic rituals and animal sacrifices were said to occur. Then, Chris talks about the West Memphis 3, a group of teenagers who were accused of being Satanists and murdering children. This tale is absolutely heartbreaking, and you don’t want to miss it. Next, Cody travels just a couple hours from his hometown to talk about a suicide in Childress, Texas, that led to a crazy-ass satanic witchhunt. Finally, Chris completes the story of the West Memphis 3. You’re gonna be so angry by the end of this, as it’s just tragic. BSP: Believer Skeptic Podcast is a podcast where two idiots debate the Belief and Skepticism of different phenomena. They will cover topics that fall under different categories such as cryptozoology, the supernatural, spiritualism and more. While sipping Booze or Spirits one host will state the reason he or other people Believe in the chosen topic and the other host will state the reason he or other people are Skeptics. There will be a lot of fun, humor, and sometimes some insightful information (as much as two idiots can provide).
