If you're at the 6 & 7 figure level in your business, chances are (if you're using social media) you have someone else handling your media presence.  What I want to leave with you today is this... if this person isn't a Christian, doesn't have the same world view you have and / or doesn't know your brand voice - you are not effectively using social media the way YOU should be using it. It's important that each of us show up on social media authentically, however; most successful businesses do not have the time, energy or knowledge on how to approach social media the correct way.  So this is my caution to you as you approach finding someone to help with social media consulting and management for your business - ensure they know WHO you are, WHOSE you are and the VALUES that are most important to your company.

219 : How to figure out where the People You're Trying to Reach are Hanging Out - So you can market to them w/ video

To everyone out there pursuing their dream of building a business that you LOVE that allows you to create the time freedom you desire and that allows you to be fully present to those in your life you love, I want to encourage you, KEEP GOING. I just had my highest invoice of $27K invoice paid in full. Sent the invoice Friday and paid in full Saturday by noon. I share this because sometimes I even have a hard time believing this is truly possible although it is happening. In fact, I have found myself feeling frustrated because a part of my business wasn't growing like I was hoping it would. As I sit down to do the math, I'm on track to have the best year yet in my business since we began in 2014 serving kingdom CEO's and business owners with social media strategies that focus on ORGANIC strategy. That's good news. Yet I was finding myself constantly frustrated or feeling as if I was failing. Why? Because the 'thing' I wanted to work, just wasn't converting like we had visualized it would. As a believer, I know in my gut that God calls us to show up and lead well in His strength, not our own. He calls us to seek Him and to fully lean into Him being the source of our focus and the strength for which we're relying upon daily. And as much as I find myself telling my clients they need to be pliable in business. I found myself resistant in this one area. After lunch with a wildly amazing friend last week, she pointed out that it might very well be pride that is preventing me from making the needed changes in my business. OUCH! But after time praying, talking with my husband and actually looking at the numbers in my business. She's right. I'm so excited for the doors that God is opening in my business. They are different doors than I had wanted. They are different doors than I was even pursuing. But, I'm seeing God give me the desires of my heart so that I can indeed be a digital missionary empowering leaders and companies that truly want to thrive in business so they can shine their light for Jesus. I am so thankful to have a delightful team of people around me helping me on the journey -as well as friends and mentors that have encouraged me so much over the years.  I am so excited to continue speaking on stages about organic social media strategies and relationship marketing through stellar content and video. We all have a past but the purpose of this post on this beautiful summer morning is to tell you all that where I am today isn't where I thought I'd end up... I was a special education teacher... Now I'm a social media and business strategist for Christian CEO's and service-based business owners in business 12 months+. I was married for 5 years when my husband at the time came home after we had just sold our home and moved to Georgia, told me in 2 minutes to move out, he didn't want to be married and I didn't meet his needs physically, spiritually, intellectually or emotionally. Now I am married again and celebrating 19 years come this October with my husband and our beautiful three children in South Carolina. I did have my faith, however, I truly was broken, alone, and curious how this had become my life. I was in a very very dark place....newly divorced, 26 years old, and living alone at the beach working 60 hours a week in customer service management 2nd shift. The main reason I wanted a 'different' job.......I wanted some semblance of normalcy. And for me the only normal I could create was finding a job working 9-5. I found a job working for a digital marketing agency, took a 15K paycut, and the rest is history. Now I have 21 years experience in digital marketing, business and online sales and get to show up everyday helping men and women that need help with their social media strategy. You're not making enough videos.  This is Owen's top mistake that entrepreneurs make when using video and trying to get engagement on YouTube. I loved this episode with Owen. He's a straight shooter (i.e. 'If you can't rattle off 10 topics for video off the top of your head, you're not an expert.') In this week's podcast episode, Owen and I talk about the biggest mistakes people make when they're looking to get engagement on YouTube.  10 years ago Owen was a radio ad rep turned freelance videographer and had just started learning about YouTube and Facebook. Now he have the best job ever! He runs my own live stream and YouTube channel coaching company, speak on stages across the world & get to mentor visionaries in various industries virtually from his office. Trial, error, and finally, some mentorship my friend! He was his first client really. Owen was a new videographer trying to sell my services to businesses with face-to-face networking . At the time he was struggling to get more people to know about who he was and how he could help them. The big problem was that he wasn't using video to actually market my own business. Then Owen had some health issues and also got a mentor and both of these pivoted the rest of his career, allowing him to stream line his lead-generation system to work FOR him so he could focus on what matters most in life.
