005: Can’t Relate: We watched the “Shrill” trailer but should we even watch the show? Part 1 of 2 Jay and Lil’s friend recently told them about a new show called “Shrill” on Hulu and how this show is so amazing because of how it represents big girls. Sounds interesting right? Shrill is an American Show that premiered on Hulu in April 2019. It follows a plus sized woman who is tired of the world around her treating her as if she is not good enough because of her size. After she goes to her first plus size/body positivity party, she finally starts to feel like she is just as great as everyone else. The show follows her as she tries to act on her new found self love all while juggling a career, a social life, and bad hookups. Sounds promising enough but Jay and Tigerlily’s attention span doesn’t allow for them to watch an entire show together so they watched the trailer. Would they relate to Annie? 004: JayJay’s Fair-Weather Friend Found a Man JayJay is in her feels. One of her best friends recently went MIA cause they got a new boo. She went from texting/calling Jay every day to absolutely zero communication. Needless to say, Jay is feeling some type of way about it. Fair-weather friends are the worst. You never know where you stand with them, they tend to flake on plans, they only show up when they need something. Often times though, they’re not very easy to spot. Most times, they are super fun, they’re the best to go out with, you can spend hours on the phone with them talking about nothing, and soon enough, you think you’ve found a new bff! Then all of a sudden, they disappear on you because they get a new man, or they met a cool new group, they started hanging out with a coworker, basically, something better came along. These types of friends can often cause you some stress and self doubt. They cause you to wonder where you stand, they make you wonder if you’ve done something wrong, and it’s almost hard to tell whether they are good for you or not. JayJay confides in Tigerlily about one of her friends sus behavior and finally gets to vent. Hopefully Tigerlily has better advice to offer other than “let her catch those hands!” In this episode of FBP Podcast.

003: Her Mom clearly left work early for her: Jessy’s Trials and Tribulations Internet Crybaby 2019 Nominee, Jessy Taylor is a hot mess, girl. She posted a video to her YouTube channel last week called “STOP REPORTING MY INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT” which has garnered 1.4M views with 22K dislikes and only 1.3K likes. What is this young idiot crying about? Her Instagram page was deleted because online viewers have been reporting her page to Instagram. In the video she goes on a 3+ minute rant about how there is nothing wrong with her content and that the only reason her account was deleted was because of her “haters.” There are a few gems in there too like “I AM NOTHING WITHOUT MY FOLLOWING!” And “I WAS A LOSER WORKING AT MCDONALDS!” She also goes after “90 Percenters” who work 9-5 jobs. Jay and Tigerlily discuss the video and this society’s general dependence on Social Media. Are we too dependent? Can we live without it? Does social media have such a tight grip on our day to day lives that losing it would cause such a heavy emotional toll? Chile, this girl needs some milk! 002: Is it just me, or does Red want to scissor Us? Jay and Tigerlily finally get tickets to see “Us” but it’s not a great theater. The floors are sticky, the seats don’t recline and the crowd sucks BUT what did they think of the movie? The new Jordan Peele instant classic has been the talk of the town since it’s March release. The highly anticipated second film from this awesome comedian has delivered a $70M debut opening weekend (at the time of this upload.) Although not much of the plot is known, the trailer shows a beautiful family on vacation led by Lupita Nyong’o and Winston Duke of Black Panther. A quiet vacation is turned upside down by the appearance of another family with dark intentions. What would their Tethers be like? Which one of them will be thinking about Winston Duke before bed?
