Another month, another cultural appropriation!This week we are switching things up. Anami landed in hot waters last week after she culturally appropriated Asian culture to sell and promote her online courses.There's a few problematic things about the videoIt samples Carl Douglas' catchy but problematic 70's song ' Kung Fu Fighting' which has the oriental riffThe music video fetishizes Asian womenAnami wears chopsticks in her hairMismatch Chinese & Japanese culture: although the intention to appropriate Chinese culture, she wears a Kimino...It uses the WONTON FONT, which further perpetuates what Westerners think Chinese characters look likeSince recording, we have learnt that she's been deleting comments about those pointing out the cultural appropriation and Twitter users have found that she's publicly liked anti-BLM tweets.
