The Rare and Endangered Species Trust (REST) cares for a menagerie of creatures all under the watchful eye of animal rehabilitator extraordinaire, Maria Diekmann. Everyone loves a canine companion, and this baby elephant is no exception! The tiny pachyderm arrived at the Thula Thula Rhino Orphanage in South Africa after being rejected by his herd. Critically ill, the youngster had very little chance of survival. CROW, the Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife, located in Durban, South Africa is a haven for animals in distress.
