Kira talks about how bass is her form of expression and how she always starts with bass on songs. She also talks about how it was never her intention to release the solo music but this year it felt like it was the right time. Kira explains how she slow to develop a voice and how she was commonly a team player, rather than a team leader, so her creativity was kept boxed up. Pipeman asks about her dog Jim who is on the cover of the album. Jim loves boating, but her other two dogs are less keen on it! On this episode of the Adventures Of Pipeman Podcast, Pipeman is joined by Kylie Spence. Kyle talks about her recent experience getting to play with REO Speedwagon and how their fans were so kind! Discussing how she could top that experience Kylie mentions how she would absolutely love if she got the opportunity to collab wit Taylor Swift or Carter Faith. Kylie speaks about how she got into music and how with her mom being a photographer she was always surrounded by art growing up. Kylie mentions how she loved writing poems and short stories in school but her love for music was really sparked when her mam heavily encouraged her to join the musical theatre in her school. From there her admiration for Taylor Swift sparked her desire to learn to play the guitar, and after teaching herself to play the guitar she began recording her own music and then she just grew and evolved from there. Pipeman and Kylie discuss how some people have a passion for music and work really hard at it and then there’s people who have a passion for music but also just a natural born ability to be able to create amazing music. Kylie informs us about her new song ‘River’, and about how she created this song fresh out of a huge writers block. Kylie states that she instantly fell in love with it and explains that the inspiration behind the song is longing for someone who just doesn’t want anything to do with you. Kylie talks about how she feels she captured this feeling in such a unique way and that River embraces the fact that even though someone doesn’t love you back, love is still a beautiful thing that should be embraced and cherished. Kylie mentions how she just released her music video to River on YouTube and that is was her favorite project to work on so far so you should definitely go ahead and check that out! Kylie discusses her favorite things about creating music and stated that it changes on a weekly basis but writing is an amazing outlet for her emotionally, so she always enjoys writing the most. Lena talks about her first US tour and reveals her excitement at playing in New York, where her vocal coach and mentor is from, and LA. While talking about her vocal coach, Lena talks about the importance of using your body properly and protecting your voice, even if you’re a pop singer. Joey is situated near the Niagara Falls area and mentions how the band gets to spend a lot of time together because it’s too cold to go outside so they stay indoors getting their creative juices flowing and making music. Pipeman and Joey also joke about how people get more angry during the winter in Canada because of the cold. Joey expresses his feelings about the lockdown and speaks about how he chose to see the good in the situation and ceased the opportunity to spend even more time with the band. Joey states that it was a great opportunity to just work and grow their music together. Joey also mentions how because the band had all this extra free time, they had more time to sit and reflect on their upcoming EP to make all the changes they wanted to and do everything they thought they needed to because there was no deadline. Joey talks about how generally artists are almost never fully satisfied because they feel like things could always be better however he feels as though this is the best EP they’ve put out so far and that this is the first EP he’s ever done where he can confidently say that everything he wanted to be in the music is there.
