You may be working harder than ever this year yet the profits just don’t seem to be there. In fact, your total revenue may even be up but the profits aren’t. Why is that? It may be a simple fact that you aren’t charging enough.  If you’re like the majority of businesses out there, your sales price is not high enough and it’s costing you profits. Now you may be thinking that if you sell enough volume that the profits will follow. How’s that working for you? What we see is that the low price just forces the business to work harder. And the kicker is the profits don’t increase. At least as a percentage of sales.  And if your net profit is less than 15% of total revenue then you have room to increase price.  Even if you realize you should be charging a higher price there is natural fear of raising prices for a variety of reasons. The majority of studies show that there is no correlation to the amount of time spent with your spouse and kids to the overall well being of the individual. Ep. 73 - Boundaries - Preventing Your Business From Ruining Your Marriage

Could you imagine leaving a multi-million dollar/year marketing agency you co-founded while in college and then pivot to create a non-profit foundation? Well, that’s exactly what our guest Chris Lesner did 8 years ago. Him and a few other college buddies started a business their freshman year of college not really knowing what it was to become. By the time their senior year rolled around, they had grown to a full fledged marketing agency serving Fortune 500 companies. As you could imagine, he was having a great time running this successful business but was then challenged by a mentor to do something greater. So he decided to leave the agency and start his own non-profit to support other nonprofits.  All this before he graduated college.  But as he started helping these nonprofits, he soon realized that these organizations needed marketing support but had too small of budgets to afford quality service. So he went back to his roots and added marketing services among other tools they had developed to help nonprofits raise more money.  They have sinced grown tremendously over the last 8 years and support both for-profit and non-profits with their marketing services.
