Welcome to the rebranded podcast, ROOTED ? Formally known as The Calm Collective Podcast. I’m so proud of this platform. All of the beautiful conversations that we’ve had over the last couple of years, the people that it’s reached, the community that’s been built. But over the last couple of months I started to feel some resistance. I was cancelling and rescheduling interviews left and right — I felt more contracted than I did expansive when I would sit down to do research on the guest, feeling a bit forced ask all of the right questions. So, slowly but surely, I started ditching the “should” questions and just letting them flow. This resonated deeply. I felt my shoulders start to drop during the conversation, my heart opening, and such an organic, inviting flow that’s almost hard to put into words. I realized that it was time for a shift. A change in the way I show up here. And I knew that first had to start with the name. The Calm Collective is my baby. She was birthed out of such deep ache and a true desire for healing after the loss of my dad. Little did I know, it would expand into healing through heartbreaks, uncomfortable transitions, spiritual awakening, internal evolution and personal empowerment — she isn’t going anywhere. The Calm Collective remains. This podcast is a deeper, more focused extension of those things. A deeper look into self reflection for us all. A personal, radical responsibility to ground ourselves in this one life we have the privilege of living. There will be far less interviews, and more organic talk — just you and me. Still every Wednesday, but with less of a grip to do things “by the book” if you will. If I want to show up, I’m going to. That means little bonus episodes on a random Monday if it feels correct. Structure feels good to me. Routine and rhythm is nurturing. But so is tapping into the intuition and never suppressing that which is meant to be spoken aloud. So, Rooted. Here she is. Human Design is one of the most beautiful discoveries I've had in my lifetime, as it's been this massive, yet gentle, permission slip to better understanding the way that I operate, how I best serve others and myself, and just this deep affirmation that you truly can flow and live in sync with the Universe and let go of resistance as a whole.  If you're new to Human Design and you're like "what in the world are you talking about?" -- I encourage you to start by finding out what your human design is which you can do for free, right here. The only caveat is that you do need to know the exact time you were born as it stems from your birth chart.  I'm a Projector, which makes up about 20-24% of the population, and because of their unique energy fields and somewhat complex nature, I'm always looking for specific information around this type in particular. Megan Hillukka is a bereaved mother of 6 children, 5 who are living Earth side, and has so lovingly shared her journey with trauma, PTSD, the deep waves of grief and her journey to feeling joy again, in spite of it all. Not only do we talk healing from child loss, but we dive deep into explaining death and grieving to young children, grieving as a busy parent with so much on their plate, and how we can continue to keep the spirit of those we've lost, alive.  Through grief coaching, Megan encourages and supports other grieving mothers that though the worst thing has happened to them, their life is not over. She's learned many tools and ways of shifting grief so that it can become just a little bit lighter, and easier to live with.
