The ladies give their perspectives of misconduct within some public service departments and how it impacts community members. They shed light on how civil liberties are now reasons to have the police called on you or could lead to your death. The WAGNN team presents the emotions that many community members are experiencing. WAGNN clarifies who the target audience is as it relates to anger, hurt, and sadness. Frequently, people of European descent think they are included in this group; however, this is not the case. The target audience is not the allies. The target audience is those with embedded views that lump all black people in one group, although we are different in many ways. WAGNN also dispels that “all police are not the same” and do not share the same opinion as others. WAGNN posed the question; what if the shoe is on the other foot? Would you be upset, worn down, or feel helpless? WAGNN invites a special guess to share their experiences and how the current events affect him. In Episode 10, the WAGNN ladies discuss COVID-19 but with a little twist. As a people, we have heard an inundated amount of information about the pandemic that has led us to experience many emotions. Practicing social distance (1 in the studio and 2 via phone), WAGNN talks about ways of “Keeping Busy,” also known as “Self-Care.” Self-Care is a term used as a proactive tool to strengthen self-awareness, centering of self, and self-esteem. Self-Care includes activities that will stimulate your mind and your ability to de-escalate your emotions positively. Overall, it’s just a healthy thing to do! Without forgetting the tragedies experienced by many of our loved ones and friends, WAGNN gives there condolences to those families worldwide. In saying that, WAGNN explores holistic remedies that were most popular on social media and provide experiences of the pandemic with the undertone of community support. Safety precautions and personal care also ties into “Keeping Busy” while being prepared. Engaging in art, music, crafts, or creating a new hobby is an intricate factor in staying healthy such as learning “how to make ice-cream.” Revisiting an old hobby that you previously started also counts. Self-care provides a safe place for you to catch a breather from the stressors of life. Utilizing your skills and talents are avenues to self-care. The WAGNN cast shares their accounts of the “Keeping Busy.” Ideas of exploration of hobbies, overflow of ideas, as well as maintenance of spirituality. In Episode 9, the WAGNN team discusses parental discipline. Discipline is a controversial topic that varies across cultures, beliefs, and the influence of life experiences. Often time, parents, guardians, or caregivers have misconceptions about disciplining children. Is there a place for discipline? Is there a wrong and right way to discipline your child? The WAGNN team tackles these questions and more. With the numerous headlines that have become national news with the growing deaths of children at the hands of their caregivers, WAGNN opens the conversation with appropriate versus inappropriate ways of disciplining children. This topic will help parents review their techniques to envoke a dialogue to ensure the safety of our children. Parents are also unaware of their disciplinary rights to correct unwanted behavior. Most states have a penal code that puts this topic into perspective. This code is researchable by state as it relates to disciplining children. Also, in episode 9, the WAGNN ladies give personal accounts of disciplinary experiences and the lessons learned from their parental tactics. The ladies discuss different tactics their parents used or practice themselves with their family members. The information is shared to provide insight for parents wanting to figure out if they are teaching their children properly through discipline. Though there is not a perfect answer, parents should know that each child is different and require different levels of attention. We also challenge parents to have conversations with their children and set expectations they are to follow. Also, discipline is a progressional form of teaching and not a one-shot deal. Children require attention, training, and verbal reaffirmation about their behavior. Lastly, discipline begins when the child can understand on their level a form of right and wrong. WAGNN Episode 9: Disciplining Your Child (Spank or Nah)

In episode 8, the WAGNN team continues the conversation about Self-Love (from episode 7), this time with a focus on body image. The ladies take a journey back two centuries ago to shed light on the negative attention black women received for their robust bottoms. Specifically speaking of Sarah Baartman, also known as “Hottentot Venus.” Fast forward to the present, the same imagery of black women continues to be the topic of conversation and the driving force behind most commercial music as well as plastic surgery. This segment discusses body image: How women view themselves, how we apply how people see us, and what we perceive as beautiful. Body image is a topic that is sensitive for many women, whether they choose to address it or not. Self-Esteem and Self-Love go hand in hand when you discuss body image. Plastic surgery is a phenom that has grown in the past 20-30 years in black and brown communities. Social media has propelled such images to integrate a false sense of beauty into the minds of many. What is beauty? Is beauty in the eyes of the beholder or the eyes of an Instagrammer? WAGNN continues to discuss this topic to bring awareness of how history repeats itself. As infants/children, we learn how to treat ourselves and others. As we get older, we learn self-esteem as well as insecurities from our environments. In Episode 7, the WAGNN Team discusses self-love and how it relates to relationships. We take a look to see how self-love or the lack thereof is applicable within our relationships. Episode 6: Grief and How It Affects Us

The impact of multiple partners on your child can have lasting effects in the home, school, and life. In episode 5, the WAGNN team continues where they left off in episode 4 by discussing single people with children and the rules of engagement, a necessity to consider when it involves children. Such practices include talking about your dating life with your children, or do you discuss it at all? The rules of engagement with children range from vetting your significant other before a formal introduction to discussing disciplinary action within your family. When do you apply child support? Can a person utilize child support unlawfully? As parents, the decisions you make will affect your child and exposes them to negative behavior and thinking styles.
