2020 has been both a challenging and eye-opening year for most, if not all, of us. Despite problems, issues hell, chaos and mayhem that we went through, there were still a lot of good things that we can look back in 2020. And in this episode, we’re going to talk about our key takeaways in 2020 and the things we are looking forward to in 2021. Two of my big things are hope and abundance in 2021. I think looking forward to better things this year, whether simple or grand, is in all of our lists - from finally getting hugs and kisses from our loved ones (hell even strangers at this point) to achieving our goals that maybe were put on the backseat the past year. Children coming out to parents about being gay isn’t always an easy thing. While some are okay with it, there will always be others who are opposed to the idea. But like it or not, there is always a possibility that your child may be gay and this is what we want to share in our episode today. Our very special guest is my 18-year-old daughter Nyla. She will be sharing her experience with you on how it was for her to come out to us, her parents, as well as to other family members and friends. She also shares her journey from how she knew to now that she’s living with her girlfriend. If you are a parent, Nyla also shares her thoughts on how to approach talking to children about the topic. We often hear the word depression used loosely in conversations and sometimes even without knowing what it really, truly means. Any mental health disorder such as depression shouldn’t be minimalized or talked about lightly. But the reality is, many people find it uncomfortable to discuss it with others, most especially with medical practitioners. Chronic Illness—it’s safe to say that we either already know or will meet someone suffering of a chronic illness (or maybe we fall in that realm ourselves).  But sometimes we fail to realize the emotional and physical toll it takes on that person throughout their lifetime.
