In the last decade of being a part of the wellness industry, I have been through many ups and downs with my own relationship with food, and have seen hundreds of other people struggling with the same issue: restrictive food rules. A lot of times we tend to chase the idea of a "perfect diet" and then strictly adhere ourselves to that diet type without any wiggle room. This dogmatic way of thinking can actually be detrimental to our health long term, and just doesn't make sense for the way our bodies operate.  I am definitely an advocate for following a diet that is rich in whole foods like fruits, veggies, grains, nuts and seeds. But every single person is unique and what works for one person will be different than what works for another.
