In times of need, reach for the phone. You have nothing to lose. Calling a helpline, crisis line, and or a suicide hotline is a great way to be heard and get support or sound advice on how to tackle approach your problems. When help is needed, this is an excellent place to start.

People with mental health problems say that their problems are made worse by the social stigma and discrimination they experience - from society, but also from families, friends and employers. Nearly nine out of ten people with mental health problems say that stigma and discrimination have a negative effect on their lives and the experience can make their difficulties worse and make it harder to recover.

It’s February 16th, and while some people may have woken up the morning after Valentine’s Day in a haze of romantic bliss, others will have spent the day asking their pets where it all went wrong. Do not feel pressured to “keep up with the Jones”. Of course you want to feel loved, and of course it hurts when you don’t get the same energy you give out in return. Just remember that everyone is on a different level of understanding. Try to believe that when someone is hard on you it may have very little to do with you at all. Life goes on and remember that you are more than enough!
