Let it Go!

Dental Driveway Happy Hour!

From cooking home-cooked meals to spending more time with family and significant others, I've found that others are really enjoying this newfound time spent together. Many are also enjoying the lack of peripheral noise in their lives. With this new simplistic lifestyle, people are pairing their lives down to the things which have meaning. Along with this new view, we are reflecting and realizing that many of the activities which we were doing before the outbreak didn't add to the quality of our lives. After the perceived crisis, we recognize the opportunity which sits out in the universe. This opportunity is also seeking you as you find the opportunity. The time we had available post-pandemic became apparent, and my planning was focused on how I'm going to create an exceptional experience for my patients when we re-open. I now have an entire notebook focused on this reflection. Practice Pillars: Clear Plan with a Flexible Approach

Dr. John and I chat about the three big D's direction, determination, and decision. Dr. Steven Covey says to "start with the end in mind." What do we want to achieve and stand for? What is your purpose? Many times big and bold decisions are made as a result of a life-changing event. Once you are really clear and bold about the direction of your life and what you want to achieve, then you become bold and unstoppable because your life has changed. Life is dynamic, and what we are today is different than what we were yesterday. COVID-19 is a significant event that we haven't experienced. This event has paused us all, and now many people are self-assessing and reflecting on their life. For Dr. John, this has meant rethinking his practice, looking for new opportunities, how is he going to define his new practice? Asking questions of patients equates to a patient knowing they are essential to Dr. John. He prides himself on giving his patients the attention they deserve, and his clients know that he will sit and listen to them. For his staff, Dr. John has changed his practice hours so his staff can have time for themselves after work hours. Make sure to take this opportunity to make changes. Making new decisions comes from a place of power. Be excited about the new changes you've made. Decide what choices you want to make now so you can implement them in your practice when you return to your office. Start your day with what you want the end of your day to look like in your mind. Your day doesn't have to be perfect but should achieve enough checkmarks to be content at the end of your day. Having a clear picture, direction, and vision of success in your practice is incredibly important. It's very easy to focus on what we want so that we can lose track of what is going right for us in our lives. Building relationships, serving our clients well, and hitting key numbers and goals are all reasons to celebrate. Perfection is false because we will never reach perfection. Therefore we won't have a reason to celebrate. Creative curiosity is happening amid the COVID pandemic. People are finding innovative ways to socialize in the face of lockdown. One of the best ways to break boredom is to explore your curiosity with creativity. Open up new pathways you haven't experienced before in your life. Curiosity is a choice and a mindset for us to grow. Be creative, and be curious about your future.
